Here you turn left and continue along the road to the first cottages on the left, then go further along the way to cross Bukovačke ledine to a large meadow where the road turns right, eventually exiting after 50 m to the asphalt road (30 min).
While passing this section, a beautiful view of Novi Sad will open up.
  • At this crossroads, continue forward across the meadow for approximately 50 m to the exit to another dirt road, where you will turn left and this way get to the Cross (10 min).
  • The big wooden cross remains on your right, and you will continue along the road for about 100 m to the next crossroads, where the road continues straight and bends to the right (5 min).
  • Here you will turn right, going gently uphill until you enter the forest where the trail turns sharply to the left. After 100 m on your left-hand side you will see ‘Ksena’ Cottage, which offers a beautiful view of Novi Sad. There is also a table with benches so you can take a breather (20 min).
  • Continue further uphill to a crossroads (left, right and right) after which you will continue straight uphill to a smaller ridge, and then for another 100 m downhill to a larger clearance in the middle of the forest. This place is called Stolovi (meaning Tables) or previously Astal (15 min).
  • Continue along the left path and after 100 m there is way left, but you head straight uphill following the hiking markings. You will arrive at the TV tower (30 min).
  • Exiting onto the asphalt road on the right-hand side after 50 m, you will notice the Norcev Hotel, where you will go left for about 30 m and then left again across the meadow into the woods for about 100 m. Then cross the asphalt road and carry on along the forest road which, after 500 m, passes by wooden huts and barns for people pulling wood from the forest. It stays on your left (15 min).
  • Follow this forest road gently descending to the village of Grgeteg. When you descend to the forest road that forks to the left and right, head to the left. This will get you through the monastery grounds to the back of the Monastery of Grgeteg (60 min). Here, after visiting the Monastery, you can take an extended break on the benches in front of the monastery. There is also an interesting geological cross-section of the land, which is the beginning of the trail that leads you back to the ‘Stražilovo’ Mountain Lodge. The trail takes you uphill through the forest all the way to you will get to a beautiful panoramic spot with a spacious gazebo with a table and benches (15 min).
  • The path continues to the left uphill through the forest all the way to the asphalt ridge road (15 min).
  • You cross the road and continue uphill through the forest on a hiking trail tomarked with a marathon sign, and then the trail widens and goes parallel to the asphalt road until arriving at it (30 min).
  • After coming out to the asphalt road, turn right for about 100 m and then left again, heading downhill through the forest along a marathon path that widens into a forest way and leads you to the monument to fallen soldiers in World War II (40 min).
  • Stay on this way to reach a plateau with a large wooden gazebo with benches and the spot where the tomb of Branko Radičević is located (10 min). You can take a break here.
  • Go back 100 m to the gazebo and turn right, then after 50 m left downhill descending to the stream where you take the right turn for another 300 m to the next stream (15 min).
  • After crossing the stream, you will arrive at a wide forest road that you also cross, and on the left you get onto a hiking trail that leads you uphill through the forest to the ‘Stražilovo’ Mountain Lodge (10 min).

The trail is marked with trail markers and signposts. The time required to cover the trail is 6-7 hours of walking at a leisurely pace.
